Our flagship projects
OMILAYE supports the progressive transformation of the rural public drinking water service through flagship projects geared towards performance, proximity and sustainability.
These initiatives aim to modernise infrastructure, improve continuity of service, strengthen the quality of the water distributed, optimise how systems are operated and bring the service closer still to the population.
Through these current projects, OMILAYE continues its commitment alongside the State of Benin and its partners to make a lasting contribution to universal access to drinking water in rural areas.
Our ambition: to build a service that is more reliable, more accessible and more sustainable for the communities we serve.
Solar conversion of production sites
Converting production sites to solar power is a strategic project aimed at strengthening the energy sustainability of the public drinking water service. It progressively reduces reliance on conventional energy sources, keeps operating costs under control and contributes to better continuity of service in rural areas. This project reflects OMILAYE's commitment to operations that are more sustainable, more resilient and more respectful of the environment.
Progressive rollout of smart meters
The progressive rollout of smart meters is part of an effort to modernise the commercial and operational management of the service. This project aims to improve consumption tracking, make data more reliable, strengthen transparency with users and make it easier to keep a closer watch on the volumes distributed and consumed. It marks an important step towards a public service that is more digital, more accurate and better performing.
ISO 9001 certification – Quality management
OMILAYE is pursuing ISO 9001 certification in order to strengthen the quality of its processes, the effectiveness of its organisation and user satisfaction. This work aims to formalise internal practice, improve how activities are steered, strengthen complaint handling and embed the company in a continuous improvement dynamic. It is an important lever for professionalising the public drinking water service.
ISO 14001 certification – Environmental management
Pursuing ISO 14001 certification aims to strengthen how environmental issues are factored into the operation of the public drinking water service. It allows OMILAYE to better identify, control and reduce the environmental impacts of its activities. This project confirms the company's commitment to an operating model that is more sustainable, more responsible and better aligned with current environmental requirements.
Densifying and optimising the drinking water systems
OMILAYE supports the densification and optimisation of the drinking water systems in order to progressively improve service coverage and bring drinking water closer to the population. This project covers improving network efficiency, strengthening supply capacity and progressively adapting infrastructure to the needs of the localities served. It helps improve the overall performance of the rural public drinking water service.
Strengthening continuity of service
Strengthening continuity of service is a priority area of operational improvement. OMILAYE is implementing measures to reduce interruptions, improve the responsiveness of interventions, strengthen the supervision of facilities and better anticipate malfunctions. This project contributes directly to the reliability of the service provided to the population.
