Mandat de service public

Public Service Mandate
Under the Public-Private Partnership for operating the public drinking water service in rural areas, OMILAYE carries out a public interest mission for the benefit of the populations it serves.
This mandate, entrusted through lease-management (affermage) contracts, covers the production, treatment, transmission, distribution and continuity of the drinking water service, in line with requirements for quality, performance, proximity, safety and sustainability.
On this basis, OMILAYE operates across the entire value chain of the rural public drinking water service, including:
- Operating drinking water supply systems;
- Preventive and corrective maintenance of facilities and equipment;
- Managing customer relations and following up with users;
- Monitoring and controlling the quality of the water distributed;
- Developing individual household connections;
- Raising community awareness of good water use practices;
- Continuous improvement of technical, commercial and operational performance;
- Contributing to the long-term viability of the public service in rural areas.
Through this mandate, OMILAYE contributes to a major national goal: guaranteeing rural populations reliable, equitable and sustainable access to drinking water, while supporting the State of Benin in modernising and professionalising the sector.
OMILAYE — Water is life.
