Institutional and Technical Partners

Work built with key partners

OMILAYE's mission sits within a structured partnership framework bringing together the institutional, technical and local actors engaged in developing the rural public drinking water service in Benin.

Under the Public-Private Partnership for the operation of rural drinking water services, OMILAYE works in coordination with the State of Benin, the contracting authority, ANAEPMR, local authorities, the relevant technical services and partners active in the water sector.

This collaboration makes it possible to plan work better, monitor performance rigorously, operate facilities more efficiently and respond appropriately to the needs of rural populations.

The State of Benin

The State of Benin sets national policy on universal access to drinking water. Through its public policy, it carries the ambition of guaranteeing rural populations a drinking water service that is reliable, sustainable, equitable and accessible.

OMILAYE supports this vision by contributing to the operational delivery of the delegated public service within its area of operation.

ANAEPMR

The National Agency for Drinking Water Supply in Rural Areas plays a central role in steering, coordinating and monitoring the rural drinking water sub-sector.

Its responsibilities include monitoring water assets, modernising infrastructure, overseeing performance and supporting the implementation of the lease-management contracts.

Local authorities

Municipalities and local authorities are essential partners in maintaining close relations with the population. They facilitate local coordination, keep communities informed, help identify needs and support the work carried out in the field.

This collaboration strengthens OMILAYE's local roots and helps ensure local realities are better taken into account.

Technical partners

Technical partners support the development, modernisation and continuous improvement of the public drinking water service. Their contribution may cover studies, works, maintenance, water quality, equipment, technology solutions, training or capacity building.

Through these collaborations, OMILAYE consolidates its operating model, improves system performance and strengthens the sustainability of the service provided to users.

A collective effort in the service of rural populations

OMILAYE regards its institutional and technical partners as indispensable to the success of its mission. Together, they help bring drinking water lastingly closer to rural communities, improve living conditions and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6.

OMILAYE — Water is life.
